![]() ![]() I lost an hour+ this morning figuring out how to make an SSL VPN connection able to access the admin interface, DNS, and the LAN. Some of the FW configuration stuff makes me cringe I'm running it on a Celeron 1037U / 4GB system and it doesn't break a sweat with all the features enabled on a Comcast "Extreme 250" connection (~300/30). It's not as intuitive as its pretty face would lead you to believe, even for trivial things like forwarding a port.Īside from those gripes, it is working well for me.Works fine when I click the backup button. Automatic daily FTP backups have failed for me every day.If you export to PDF / CSV, you get what's on the current page and nothing more. The web UI's filtering capabilities are worthless. Doesn't support DHCP-PD so it's pretty much useless at home. It acts like it's set up correctly but keeps using the self-generated CA. Can't get SSL interception working with my own CA cert.Sophos blocked some connections to a command-and-control server, likely stopped some worse things from happening, and popped up some red alerts on the dashboard. Got an unwelcome test of some of the IPS / APT features last week when one of my PCs succumbed to a remote execution vulnerability, picked up DNS Unlocker and who knows what else. I recently went with Sophos XG after experimenting with pretty much all of the free options. r/HomeNetworking - Simpler networking advice. r/pfsense - for all things pfsense ('nix firewall) Might be able to find things useful for a lab. r/hardwareswap - Used hardware, swap hardware. r/buildapcsales - For sales on building a PC r/linux - All flavors of Linux discussion & news - not for the faint of heart!
